Indication: Heat in the Heart and Small Intestine channels
Symptoms: Irritability with a sensation of heat in the chest, thirst with a desire to drink cold beverages, a red face with possible sores around the mouth. Also used for dark, scanty, rough, and painful urination, or blood in the urine.
Tongue: red; Pulse: rapid
Cold and bitter, sweet and bland -- this formula both guides out fire excess without damaging the yin, and generates yin fluids without retaining pathogenic heat.
