Indication: Middle Jiao Yang deficiency with ascendant cold excess
Symptoms: Excruciating epigastric and abdominal pain where the patient cannot tolerate being touched, strong sensation of cold in the epigastrium, vomiting to the point of being unable to eat, borborygmus possible
Tongue: white slippery; Pulse: thin, tight, wiry (possibly hidden)
This formula utilizes warming dispersion and warming tonification to treat both the root (Middle Jiao deficiency) and branch (Vigorous Cold).
